Interspecific Aggression By Yellow Warblers In A Sun Coffee Plantation

Yellow Warbler (Dendroica petechia) Science Article 5

abstract

Non-breeding habitat use is mediated infrequently by interspecific aggression in migratory birds. Such aggression occurs most commonly among birds exploiting rich resource patches such as nectar, fruit, or other similar resources (Greenberg et al. 1994). Interspecificterritoriality and dominance is less commonly noted among insectivorous species (Rappole and Warner 1980. Greenberg et al. 1994).
