Captive Wilsons’ storm-petrels (Oceanites oceanicus) fed a diet of pure wax (hexadecyl oleate) or triacylglycerol (olive oil) increased in body mass or lost mass moreslowly than birds given only water, depending upon the quantity of lipid they were fed.
