abstract

The Old World species Egretta garzetta has been observed about 45 times in the Americas at widely separated locations. Numbers of sightings in the Americas are increasing annually. Individuals apparently migrate with Snowy Egrets, Egretta thula, between the Caribbean and northeastern North America.
